Ágnes Botond was the daughter-in-law of the famous/infamous director of Magvető Könyvkiadó, György Kardos, and the wife of his son, István Kardos. In her book, we constantly meet István Kardos' father "from the side", but in a different way than how Moldova portrayed him. Ágnes writes about her relationship with István and her marriage, as it developed, existed and collapsed in the shadow of her father-in-law, György Kardos.
