Hate

It is not easy to question one's family history when there is no one to ask. Márton Loboncz, an architect now living in Budapest, left the small town in Transylvania where he grew up a decade ago, but after his mother's death, he decides to look for his father, who was released from prison and whom he has not seen for a long time. While searching for traces of his father, not only do the hidden, silenced stories of the fate of his parents and grandparents from the 1970s and 80s of the Romanian dictatorship emerge, but he also has to face the fact that the all-consuming hatred, like a faulty gene, is inevitably inherited in his fate. Can a blow to the back of the head break this fatal series? The characters in Sándor Zsigmond Papp's new novel struggle as one within the confines of a dark command and in the captivity of their extreme emotions.
